The Golden Eagle boys’ basketball team came up short against the Norton Bluejays on Friday 20.
In the first two quarters, Norton controlled the game with a seven-point lead going into the half. However, Trego outscored their competitors by one point in the third quarter and tied with them in the fourth.
John Griffith scored an impressive 30 points against the Bluejays before fouling out. Griffith, who averages 11.8 points per game, also led the team with six assists.
Overall, Trego 55% from field goal range and made 13 or 15 free throws. Trego still fell short and lost to Norton, 66-72.
In the next scheduled game, the 5-9 Eagles will face the 7-2 Ringnecks at Hill City on Friday 27.
