Trego boys finish the week 1-1

After winning against the Bulldogs at Plainville in the MCL Tournament feather bracket on January 7, the boys’ basketball team will move on to round one of the annual competition on Tuesday, January 10.
In the first half of the Osborne game, the Golden Eagles soared with a score of 26-19. After a low scoring 4-8 third quarter, Trego went on to finish the game on top, 39-34.
The highest scorers for the night were Clayton Riedel and Devon Ghumm, with 15 and 12 points, respectively. The top rebounders were Ghumm and Blake Fritts, with six rebounds each.
The night before at home, the Golden Eagles fell, 42-67, to Plainville in regular-season play.
With an ending score of 16-31, the first half left Trego in the hole. The final half resulted in an Eagle loss, 42-67. Having 33 rebounds, compared to only 10 for Trego, the Cardinals were difficult to shut down.
The top point getter for Trego was Brad Pfannenstiel, with 15 points. Riedel came next with 13 points.
