Trego handled Smith Center’s pressure better in the second quarter. Even though Trego outscored the Lady Reds, 11-4, Trego went to the half, down 16-29.

Trego was not able to make up for that 13-point deficit in the second half.   Fighting until the end, the Lady Eagles finished the game, 39-68, to take second place in the tournament.

To advance to the finals, the Lady Eagles beat Hodgeman County in the semi-finals on December 9.

Dealing with Longhorn’s trap defense, Trego played a close first quarter, outscoring the Longhorns, 12-11. The Lady Eagles stepped up their defense, giving up only three points in the second quarter. The Lady Eagles went into the half, up 24-14.

Off to a slow second half, Trego outscored Hodgeman, 17-15.  Despite a focus problem, the girls finished the game on top, 41-29.
