By Amelia Fabrizius
In their first game back from Christmas break, the Lady Eagles beat the Plainville Cardinals at home on January 6.

Getting up on the Lady Cards 12-10, Trego shook off their rust in the first quarter. The Lady Eagles, constantly changing up their defense, kept their lead through the second quarter and finished the half, 30-24.

Plainville’s scrappiness in the third quarter challenged the Lady Eagles, who gave up 12 points while tallying nine, which brought the score to 39-36. However, Trego, never behind in the game, hung on to their lead to finish on top, 54-48.

Trego’s leading rebounder for the night was Bailee Fritts with 11 rebounds.

The top scorer of the night was Haley Dietz with 15 points.

The Lady Eagles will go into the MCL tournament seeded fifth with a 4-3 record.

The Lady Eagles will compete in their first round of the tournament against the 4th seeded bulldogs at Osborne at 7 p.m. tonight.
