By Amelia Fabrizius Traveling to Wichita County-Leoti, Trego tacked on a substantial win against the Lady Indians on February 14.
Coming out hot, Trego had a 17-0 run on the Lady Indians early in the first quarter. The Lady Eagles continued to put various types of pressure on the Lady Indians and finished the first quarter up, 27-14. Backing off on their defensive pressure, the Lady Eagles still outscored the Lady Indians, 10-5, in the second quarter. Trego went into the half ahead, 37-19.
Trego came out of the half, still slow offensively yet continued to hold a sizable lead. The Lady Eagles finished on top, 55-39.
Tying her career high, Lexi Riedel led the team with 21 points, shooting at 71 percent. The team shot 43 percent overall from the field.
Having fallen to the Panthers in the third place game in the MCL tournament, the 12-6 Lady Eagles will travel to Phillipsburg to seek avenge against the 12-5 Lady Panthers on Friday, February 17.
