“The team didn’t wrestle as well as we could have. We faced some tough competition and things didn’t go our way. We will need to regroup and focus on wrestling better this next weekend,” said Coach Dan Wynn after the wrestlers competed at Smith Center on January 28.

Trego traveled to Smith Center to compete in the 1st annual Western Kansas Tournament of Champions. Among 14 teams competing, Phillipsburg won the tournament, followed by Oberlin and Smith Center. Trego placed 12th.

Dustin Zahn (285 lbs.) went 1-1, which earned him 2nd place. Other finishes included Tyler Lowry (145 lbs.), 0-2; Haden Finley (160 lbs.), 0-2; and Robert Clark (170 lbs.), 0-2.

Trego will travel to Leoti February 4.
