Seven added to NHS organization
By Stephanie Griffith
After considering their service, character, leadership, and academic record, a selection committee named seven students for NHS membership.
New NHS members include seniors Sierra Fabrizius, Tarin Mai, Annabelle Oss and Michele Ummel; and juniors Olivia Fabrizius, Casey Flax and Chad Jamison. They join seniors Dana Diec, Taylor Dirks, Stacy Littlechild, Cameron Locke and Aubrey Riedel, who were inducted into the organization last year.
The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 with the purpose of recognizing and encouraging scholarship, character, service and leadership. Through the local chapter’s service activities, members will maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection.
NHS membership is an honor that requires a serious commitment. The organization will be involved in service projects for both the school and community. Members are expected to be involved in those projects and maintain high academic standards.
NHS officers will be named soon, and the NHS induction ceremony will be held in the near future.

Officers elected in National Honor Society Organization
NHS Officers were recently elected by fellow organization members.
The 12-member organization elected four leaders: Cameron Locke, president; Stacy Littlechild, vice-president; Aubrey Riedel, secretary; and Chad Jamison, treasurer.
A first-time president of NHS, Locke, commented after becoming the new leader.
“Even though no one ran against me, it’s an honor to be president. We have a great group of people and have high hopes for this year.”
National Honor Society inducts new members
The National Honor Society induction ceremony was held in the TCHS auditorium on November 19. Seven were inducted into the organization.
Vice-president Stacy Littlechild began the ceremony by welcoming guests, and then four new members reviewed the qualities required for NHS membership: Michele Ummel spoke about scholarship, Annabelle Oss commented about service, Chad Jamison spoke about leadership, and Olivia Fabrizius commented about character.
Then the candidates rose and repeated the NHS pledge before each candidate received an official emblem from Principal Daryl Stegman.
In his address, President Cameron Locke praised fellow NHS members for their academic success, diverse talents, and positive attitudes. He attributed their success to parental support.
Then members were then given the opportunity to express their gratefulness toward their own parents.
New inductees included Olivia Fabrizius, Sierra Fabrizius, Casey Flax, Jamison, Tarin Mai, Oss and Ummel. They join Dana Diec, Taylor Dirks, Littlechild, Locke, and Aubrey Riedel.
